HCHC Brings Back-to-School Food Drives to Albany, Hudson, and Catskill on Friday, September 11
August 31, 2026, Albany, Hudson, Catskill, NY — As families prepare for the new school year, the Hudson/Catskill Housing Coalition (HCHC) will host The People Feed the People, a free community food distribution on Friday, September 11, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM in Albany, Hudson, and Catskill.
The back-to-school season can put financial pressure on families already balancing rising household costs. HCHC's food distribution is part of the organization's ongoing commitment to making sure families and community members have access to food and household items.
"Food is a basic need, and no family should have to choose between putting food on the table and paying their rent," said Shirle Cross, Co-Founder and Board Chair of HCHC. "The People Feed the People is about making sure our neighbors have access to food as we head into a new school year. We want families to know that their community is here for them."
HCHC encourages community members in Albany, Hudson, and Catskill to attend the distribution and share the information with friends, family, and neighbors who may benefit.
