Hudson/Catskill Housing Coalition Hosts Mutual Aid Food Distribution Events Across the Region
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 5, 2026, Hudson, NY — As families across Albany, Hudson, and Catskill face rising costs of living and shrinking public support, the Hudson/Catskill Housing Coalition (HCHC) will host a regional mutual aid food distribution on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The event brings together community partners to provide free food, hygiene supplies, and essential items while strengthening long-term community support networks.
The distribution will take place at multiple locations in Albany, Hudson, and Catskill, coordinated with local organizations and The People’s Table. HCHC’s effort is designed to respond directly to economic pressures that leave families struggling to cover basic needs, including groceries, rent, and healthcare.
“Mutual aid is how communities care for one another when systems fail,” said Shirle Cross, Co-Founder and Board Member of HCHC. “We are not just handing out food. We are building relationships, sharing resources, and creating pathways for lasting change.”
