Stand With Quintin Cross on October 20!

Our Leadership. Our Community. Our Commitment to Justice.

The Hudson Catskill Housing Coalition is calling on our community, partners, and supporters to stand with our Executive Director, Quintin Cross, as he prepares for a court appearance on October 20.

For more than a year, Quintin has been involved in an escalating dispute with Werner Hugo Van Vuuren, a Harvard-educated former venture capital partner associated in public reporting with Hudson Common Sense.

This history is documented.

In July 2025, Quintin asked that direct communication stop. Hudson Police Chief Mishanda Franklin intervened and recommended that both parties cease contact.

The public record also includes repeated commentary targeting Quintin’s personal history, political activity, and leadership of HCHC.

Now Quintin is facing a criminal allegation arising from a disputed September 18 encounter.

We believe every person deserves due process, dignity, and safety. That includes Black community leaders whose work challenges established institutions and longstanding power structures.

HCHC will continue its commitment to housing justice, mutual aid, community leadership, and building political power with people too often excluded from decisions affecting their lives.

We invite our community to stand with Quintin through peaceful, respectful court observation.

We are not asking anyone to interfere with the judicial process or prejudge the allegations. We are asking our community to show up in solidarity with a leader who has shown up for others.

We stand for dignity. We stand for due process. We stand together.
