What services does HCHC provide tenants?

We can give brief answers about your rights as a tenant in New York State, provide access to information about landlord/tenant law that is publicly available, and explain options available to tenants in your specific housing situation.

We do not offer legal advice. We can explain your rights and options under the law, but we cannot advise you on how to proceed in a legal case. We can provide the contact information of your local legal aid or other housing attorneys.

We do not give rental assistance or provide help with back-rent at this time. We can provide you with a list of agencies that may be able to assist with rent payments.
